Covering the ground gives environmental gains

Covering the ground with bark grinds to control weeds.

The students in a second year gardening class are carrying out a trial with different materials for controlling weeds. When the students come back to the school after the summer they will evaluate their sample surface.

  1. Hello Froken

That's a great idea. Do the students determine the type of materials that they will use, or does the teacher tell them what to do?

    1. Hello!
First the teacher, me, gave a lesson concerning ground covers, because it's in the curriculum. Then we went out to study different types of ground covers in the surroundings of the school. Finally I gave the students a list of different materials to choose from. There were 4 groups and they all used different materials.

  2. I like Solutions were the student do a real things and then have to se what happened. That’s a good wy to learn I think. Better than reading. The down part is that its slow, and you have to wait and see, bit still. Good work I think.
